Welcome to the Hampton Hammers Netball Club!

Our History

Hampton Hammers first played in the SANDY competition in 1984 with two teams of schoolgirls from Hampton Primary School. We have 20 teams from U/11 to Open.

Our Values

Our club strongly believes that life-long skills can be learnt by playing in a team sport like netball.
Skills such as the importance of fitness, fairness and good sporting values, not letting your team-mates down, resilience and perseverance and, that to achieve anything in life, you need to put in the effort.
We endeavour to foster and develop these skills in a friendly, caring and supportive environment regardless of the skill level of your child.
Players also have the opportunity to develop further skills in umpiring and coaching.

Our Committee

The Club is managed by a dedicated committee, consisting of volunteer parents and friends.

Match Play

Teams play on Saturdays at the Thomas St, Hampton netball courts some time between 8.15am and 6pm depending on the age group, commencing with Under 11s at 8.15am, and Open age teams commencing at 4.20pm.
The only exception is that two rounds of first year Under 11 matches are played on a Thursday night commencing at 5.45pm and 6.25pm. This is because there are insufficient courts at Thomas St to accommodate all teams on a Saturday.
The season commences late February and runs until the end of Term 3, however Round Robin grading matches are played for Under 11s on a Saturday in mid February.

No games are played on long weekends (or the Thursday before them) or during State School holidays.

Finals are held in the Under 13, Under 15, Under 17 and Open Age groups prior to the end of State School Term 3. If you have a player in any of these age groups, please try not to book any holidays away during the 3 week finals series as this will disadvantage the rest of the team.

Keep an eye out for the 2023 dates, when we are closer to the season, they will be found here.

There is a 2nd SANDY season in the year, called the Spring comp, which runs for 6 or 7 weeks in 4th term where players are free to make up and register their own teams.
